Upcoming Events

Just a reminder of upcoming events:

The Swap Meet/DI Drive is on Nov. 30.  Bring your items to the gym starting at 4:00 pm.  Swapping opens at 6:30 and closes at 8:00 pm.

December 10 is our ward Christmas breakfast.  It will be held at the Stake Center.  Bring your kiddos and enjoy breakfast with your friends and neighbors.

December 15 is the Relief Society Progressive Dinner.  Meet at the church at 6:00 for a short opener, and to get your dinner route.  Sign-ups for hostesses, and dinner items are going around now.  For our plan to work we need a count of whose attending, so please sign up to come so our count can be as accurate as possible.  Contact Erin Smith if you are interesting in coming, hosting, or cooking!

I wanted to give everyone a heads up for next year.  Our additional meeting day and time has been changed to the 1st Tuesday of every month.  Mark your 2012 calendars!

Attention! Super Saturday Info!

To order Super Saturday crafts this year you will need to get an order form from Cindy Smith (or photo copy a friends). We are no longer allowed to display the projects at church on Sunday so the next time they will be out is at the September Additional Meeting. If you have any questions feel free to call me 794-2265.

You will need to turn in ALL order forms with a check to

Cindy Smith or Sallie Henry by September 25th.

Please make sure you have carefully filled it out, looked it over, have added right, and do not need to change anything before you turn it in.

Thanks Ladies! ENJOY!

Super Saturday 2011

Heritage Ward Super Saturday!

It's that time again! We are so excited for another Super Saturday!

We hope that you all enjoy this fun activity and can come participate with us!

Super Saturday will be on

October 15th

We will start the morning off with a few classes from

8 a.m - 9 a.m.

with a light breakfast served.

The classes this year will be:

...............

1. Wheat Sprouting

2. Home Made Soaps and Cleaners

At the stroke of 9 we will let all crafting begin!

We are excited for our projects this year! We have put a lot of time into them already and hope that you will all enjoy them.

Temple Pictures

These are an amazing deal!

16x24 print (24x32 framed) $35

12x18 print (20x26 framed) $25

4x6 print for wood block $3.50

* a list of the 14 Temples available can be found at http://www.standinholyplaces.com/

These will take a lot of time and you will only have that day to complete them. There is a lot of staining & painting that takes time. Please be aware of that when signing up for multiples. It is a fabulous price, but it's not so fabulous when you can not complete all of them or take home other unfinished projects.

The estimated time is 4 hours.

Christmas Advent Calendar

$12.50

This is 24" x 24". It has 12 cute boxes with a lid to hold advent items. You will be given a suggestion list for things & services to put in the boxes each year. An example would be, "Build a snowman as a family and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa"~ and in the box you would include packets of hot cocoa mix.

*For this project, you will need to bring several coordinating sheets of scrapbook paper. The ward will provide Black, Cream, Red, and Green paint as seen in the photo. If you choose papers that need other specific colors of paints, please feel free to bring those too

Estimated time is 2 1/2 hours

Joy & Boo

$13.50

These cute blocks are double sided. They stand about 19" high.

The ward will provide White, Black, or Silver paint
and Black, Gold, or Silver vinyl for the JOY's and Black or Silver vinyl for the BOO's.
We will try to keep the scrapbook papers provided that day the same as the sample, BUT we may have to vary a little depending on availability at the time.

* You are welcome to bring your own scrapbook paper and/or paint to customize them to your decor and if you would like any ribbon tassels you will need to bring them also.

Estimated time is 2 hours

Photo Stands

$3.50

These photo stands are 13" (vertical block) or 10" (horizontal block) tall. They are very versatile. They can be used to hold anything from a photo, shopping list, chore lists, phone messages, recipes, or anything else you can think of!

The ward will provide White and Black paint.

*If you would like to customize it to your own decor or childs room (like the pink or blue ones shown below), please bring your own paint.

Estimated time is 1 hour

Scripture Tote

$2.50

Again.... Such a good Deal! These totes are made out of laced vinyl with chip board inserts. They are sized perfectly to hold your scriptures and manual and the papers can be changed out if you like, to match clothing or holidays.

*You will need to bring 2 sheets of coordinating 12 x 12 paper

and 4 yards of ribbon to match them.

Estimated time is 1 1/2 hours

DVD Journals

$3.50

These are cute little pocket journals. They would be great for a baptism or Young Women gift. They are made out of a DVD type case that provides protection and keeps everything together and it has a pad of paper, pocket for handouts, and a cute "reminder" quote on the inside. There is room for you to add a pen so you will always be ready to jot down notes when you need to. There will be several kits to choose from at Super Saturday

Quiet Books

$1.50

These little books are the perfect size to throw in a purse for church. Your child can color the plastic pages with crayons and then simply wipe them off with a cloth or napkin. You can also scrapbook the front and/or back of these books to individualize them for each child on your own.

The Childs version comes with 24 ~4x6 LDS coloring pages
and the Youth version comes with 24 LDS Word Search Puzzles

*The crayons will not be provided with the books (we figured every house probably has enough crayons laying around that could be used). Tip: If your crayon is older, it may not color easily on the page... but if you just scribble for a minute on regular paper to get a fresh new crayon tip it will work.

Estimated time is 1/2 hour
(this could be done at home if needed)

Canned Heat

$3.50

This is a great Provident Living item. This can has a roll of toilet paper soaked in alcohol inside. Only the alcohol burns and it provides heat. When the alcohol is all used, you simply pour another bottle of alcohol in. It would be a great addition to your emergency storage.

Estimated time is 1/2 hour

Necklace or Ring

FREE

We always try to provide a fun FREE craft for Super Saturday.

This year we have decided on these cute birds nest Necklaces or Rings.

*The chain for the necklace will not be provided.

Please only 1 per household

Estimated time is about 10

Lunch will be served at NOON

We are going to be sending around a sign up sheet for our Pot Luck Lunch. We want to feature items from our new Ward Cookbook so that every one can sample a few of the fabulous recipes in it.

*No childs class will be provided.

COMING SOON!!!

Super Saturday crafts will be up and available for your viewing pleasure in the next day or so. Check back soon!
